PRIVATE INSURANCE / EXTENDED HEALTH BENEFITS

Many private insurance companies cover the services of a Certified Athletic Therapist and Registered Massage Therapist.

As with other services, coverage differs between individual plans. Athletic Therapy may be covered under your policy even if it is not listed in the description of your policy. Great West Life, Greenshield, and Blue Cross (RCMP and Veteran's affairs) often cover athletic and massage therapy. We encourage you to check with your human resources department and/or your policy provider to ensure that your plan covers the services of a Certified Athletic Therapist and Registered Massage Therapist. We are happy to assist you in this matter if you have any questions. If your policy covers the therapy, we can direct bill the insurance company on your behalf.

If you discover that these services are not included, we urge you to download the forms located below and send them to the appropriate parties. Shouldn't you have the option to choose the therapy that works best for you? The insurance companies will respond if there is a demand!

SPORT ACCIDENT INSURANCE FOR ATHLETES

Additionally, there are sport accident insurance policies available for sport clubs. These policies provide additional coverage for athletes, coaches, officials and volunteers who sustain an injury during official training sessions, races or competitions. Check with your provincial sport organization to find out if your sport has accident insurance.
